Indiana Women's Tennis Hosts Adidas IU Winter Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's tennis team, ranked No. 49 nationally, kicks off the spring portion of its schedule with the Adidas IU Winter Invitational on Jan. 11-13 at the IU Tennis Center. This will be Indiana's last regular season tournament before dual matches begin on Jan. 19.
The Hoosiers hope to use their strong finish from last fall to propel them to a successful spring. IU completed the fall schedule with a fantastic showing at the Western Michigan Super Challenge in November as IU claimed titles in six of the possible 12 flights, four in singles and two in doubles. For that entire weekend, Indiana tallied a 19-5 record in singles play and went 9-3 in doubles action.
Indiana's Leslie Hureau and Sophie Garre are currently ranked 31st in the preseason ITA Doubles Rankings.
The Hoosiers will welcome Bowling Green, Marquette and No. 52 Missouri to Bloomington this weekend. BGSU's Emily Reuland is ranked No. 87 in the preseason ITA Singles Rankings, as Mizzou's Cierra Gaytan-Leach is at No. 71. In doubles, Missouri's duo of Gaytan-Leach and Elisha Gabb combine to rank No. 26 in the preseason rankings.
