Indiana Falls 3-0 to Illinois

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana Volleyball (8-9, 0-6) fell in three sets to Illinois (7-9, 3-3) on Saturday. The Illini prevailed (25-22, 25-23, 25-20). Jordan Haverly and Chanté George led the way for IU with 11 kills each, and Awele Nwaeze added 10. Caitlin Hansen had 15 digs in the three-setter. The Hoosiers had 48 kills compared to just 37 for Illinois, but 27 errors hurt the IU cause.
Illinois took the first set 25-22. Indiana got six kills from Haverly and five from George in the set. Hansen had five digs in the frame as well.
The Hoosiers fell 25-23 in the second. Amelia Anderson added six kills in the set, while Haverly and Nwaeze each contributed four. Hansen had five digs.
The third set saw Illinois build a big lead and stave off three IU rallies to pull out the match with a 25-20 win. George and Morgan Leach each had four kills in the set.
