Indiana Field Hockey Victorious on Senior Day

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Sophomores Sydney Supica and Karen Lorite scored two goals apiece to lift the Indiana field hockey team to a 6-1 victory over Ball State on senior day at the IUFH Complex on Sunday.
The Hoosiers (9-8, 1-4) outshot Ball State (6-11, 1-3) 23-5 for the game and had 14 of their 23 shots on goal.
Lorite put the Hoosiers on the board first with a goal in the eighth minute of the opening period on an assist from Audra Heilman.
After a Ball State goal in the ninth minute, the Hoosiers came right back two minutes later as senior Gaby Olshemski found Supica for one of her two goals on the afternoon.
The Hoosiers would get one more goal before halftime as Lorite put in her second goal with another assist from Olshemski.
The Hoosiers carried the momentum of their 3-1 lead into the second half and scored again three minutes into the second period on a goal by Heilman on a pass from Lorite.
Senior Mariella Grote and Supica added goals to give the Hoosiers the 6-1 victory.
Prior to the game the Hoosiers recognized their five seniors, Hannah Boyer, Emily Bowker, Olshemski, Danielle McNally and Grote.
Up next the Hoosiers travel to Michigan on Sunday Nov. 3 for their final regular season game. The Hoosiers start play in the Big Ten Tournament on Nov. 7.
