Hoosiers Travel to Michigan for Regular Season Finale

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana field hockey team will travel to Michigan to take on the Wolverines Sunday at 12:00 p.m. at Ocker Field.
LAST TIME OUT
The Hoosiers went 2-0 last weekend with an overtime 5-4 victory at Ohio State and returned home for a 6-1 senior day victory vs. Ball State.
In the match against Ohio State five different players scored and the Hoosiers came back from down 4-2 with 12 minutes left to score to goal to force overtime. In overtime it was Audra Heilman’s goal that proved to be the game winner for the Hoosiers.
In the Hoosiers game against Ball State sophomores Sydney Supica and Karen Lorite had two goals apiece and Heilman recorded one goal and assisted on two more. The Hoosiers had 23 shots, 14 of which were on goal.
SCOUTING MICHIGAN
Michigan comes in with an overall record of 10-7 and a 2-2 mark in conference play with Big Ten wins against Ohio State and Iowa.
Michigan is led by senior Rachel Mack, who is second in the Big Ten in goals with 18 goals in 17 games for the Wolverines. Mack recently broke the Michigan career goal scoring record.
BIG TEN TOURNAMENT ON DECK
The Hoosiers will travel to Columbus, Ohio for the Big Ten Tournament and play their first game on Thursday Nov. 7.
HEILMAN MAKES HISTORY
Junior Audra Heilman made history this week as she became the first player in IUFH history to earn Offensive Player of the Week honors twice in the same season. Heilman earned the honor for her combined two goals and four assists over this past weekend.
HEILMAN RECORD WATCH
Heilman is closing in on several season and career records for the Hoosiers. Heilman’s 29 points this season (nine goals and 11 assists) rank fourth on the Hoosiers record list and she is nine points from tying the record of 38, set by Morgan Fleetwood in 2012. Heilman is just one assist shy of tying the season record of 12, also set by Fleetwood in 2012. Heilman’s 55 points for he career rank sixth on the Hoosiers all-time list and she is one point short of moving into a tie for fifth on the list.
