Four Hoosiers Earn Big Ten Postseason Awards

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Four members of the Indiana field hockey team picked up Big Ten postseason honors, the conference announced today, Nov. 7. Audra Heilman was named First Team All-Big Ten, while Hannah Boyer and Sydney Supica earned Second Team honors. Emily Bowker earned the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
Heilman earns postseason honors for the second consecutive season, after being named to the second team last year. Heilman ranks third in the Big Ten in points with 32 (10 goals and 12 assists). Her 12 assists are tied for the school record for assists in a season. Heilman has been named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week twice this season.
Boyer also picks up her second consecutive Big Ten postseason honor as she was also named to the second team last year. Boyer has anchored a defense that has helped goalie Maggie Olson achieve three shutouts and lead the Big Ten in saves this season.
Supica has played and started 17 games for the Hoosiers this season and has totaled nine goals and four assists for 22 points, the second highest points total on the team behind Heilman. In the last two Hoosier wins, against Ball State and Ohio State, Supica has combined for three goals and one assist.
Bowker has played through injuries this season and has been a strong leader for the Hoosiers. Bowker has played in all 18 games for the Hoosiers and has recorded six assists.
The Hoosiers begin play in the Big Ten Tournament today at 2:30 p.m. vs Michigan State in Columbus, Ohio.
