A Win Still Evades Canada in Holiday Cup

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Indiana sophomore Jessica Guadreault earned the start in the goal for Canada in game number three of the 2013 Holiday Cup. Her six saves were not enough, however, to bolster the Canadian National Team as they fell 9-8 to Greece.
The Canadians jumped out to a quick 2-1 lead in the first quarter, but a rough second period put Team Canada into too big a hole to climb out of, giving up five goals to the Greeks. Canada re-grouped at the half and was able to hold Greece to to just three goals the rest of the match, but the damage had been done, and Canada lost with a final score of 9-8.
This loss drops Team Canada to 0-3 in the six-team, international tournament. Canada will face the Netherlands late tonight and then play a re-match against Australia on Sunday.
