Hoosiers Compete at USA Diving Winter Nationals

AUSTIN, Texas - The Indiana men's and women's diving teams were well represented on day two of the USA Diving Winter National Championships at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center in Austin, Texas.
Freshman Jessica Parratto, who is redshirting this season, is in fourth place in the women's platform competition heading into Saturday's final round. Parratto has a combined score of 597.15 through the semifinals. In the morning prelim session she was in seventh place with a score of 273.80.
Senior Kate Hillman finished 14th in the platform event with a combined score of 481.50. Hillman advanced to the semifinal round after placing 13th in prelims (250.00).
Senior Darian Schmidt finished 19th in the men's 3-meter springboard competition with a combined score of 635.40 through the preliminary and semifinal rounds. He was 12th after the prelims, posting a score of 368.10 in that round.
On Tuesday, Hillman placed 25th in the women's 1-meter springboard competition with a score of 215.55.
The event, which runs through Sunday, will feature Hoosier senior Conor Murphy tomorrow as he takes part in the men's platform competition.
