BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana sophomore Cody Zeller was named Big Ten Player of the Week after helping the Hoosiers to wins over Purdue and No. 1/2 Michigan, the league office announced on Feb. 4.
Zeller, a native of Washington, Ind., averaged a double-double with 19 points and 10.5 rebounds over the two wins. At Purdue on Wednesday night, the 7-0 center registered 19 points, 11 rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes in a 90-67 win at Mackey Arena. He then tallied 19 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks, while shooting 80 percent from the floor as the Hoosiers knocked off the top-ranked Wolverines in Assembly Hall on Saturday night.
It is Zeller's second Big Ten Player of the Week award and he shares this week's honor with Michigan State's Keith Appling.
