BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's tennis team, ranked 60th nationally, will battle No. 2 Duke on Friday, March 15. The Hoosiers have been training all week in Las Vegas, Nev., during spring break and will take on the Blue Devils while there. The match will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Duke sits at 9-2 on the season with eight of those victories over ranked opponents. The Blue Devils have five players ranked in this week's ITA Singles Rankings led by Hanna Mar who sits at No. 16. Other ranked players featured on Duke's roster are No. 35 Ester Goldfeld, No. 84 Marianne Jodoin, No. 88 Mary Clayton and No. 119 Monica Turewicz.
Duke also has three doubles tandems in the national rankings. Clayton and Goldfield rank in the top 15 and sit at No. 11 nationally.
The Hoosiers (10-4) are looking to rebound from a road loss at Purdue last Saturday that opened Big Ten play. IU's Leslie Hureau and Sophie Garre are still ranked nationally in doubles at No. 52.
Indiana's match with Duke will be IU's final non-conference match of the regular season as the Hoosiers will return to Bloomington on March 22 to take on Penn State.
