BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The No. 38 Indiana women's tennis team will play at home for the first time in nearly three weeks as the Hoosiers will welcome No. 37 Penn State and No. 53 Ohio State this weekend. IU and PSU will battle on Friday, March 22, at 5 p.m. ET and then Indiana will take on OSU on Sunday, March 24, at 11 a.m. ET, both at the IU Tennis Center.
Penn State sits at 10-1 on the season with its only loss coming at Ohio State that began Big Ten play. PSU's Petra Januskova is ranked No. 41 in the national singles rankings. Januskova is also ranked in doubles with teammate Chelsea Utting as they sit at No. 57. Friday's match will be the first competition for the Nittany Lions in 13 days.
Ohio State begins the weekend at 8-6 on the season and will take on Purdue in West Lafatyette before arriving in Bloomington. The Buckeyes are 1-1 in Big Ten matches. Kelsey Dieters will look to lead OSU this weekend as she is ranked No. 53 nationally in singles.
The Hoosiers hope to use the momentum for their win over then-No. 2 Duke the last time out. Katie Klyczek was named Big Ten Athlete of the Week earlier this week due to her performance against the Blue Devils as she knocked off No. 16 Hann Mar to clinch the win for IU in that match. With the win over Duke, Indiana gained 22 spots in the latest ITA Rankings.
