JOHN'S ISLAND, S.C. - Battling windy, cold conditions, Indiana women's golf and the rest of the field were only able to get through a round and a half at the Briar's Creek Invitational at The Golf Club at Briar's Creek at John's Island, S.C. Monday.
Play will continue Tuesday beginning at 8:15 a.m. ET, with the final round beginning immediately at the conclusion of round two. "I am really proud of the team today, dealing with the wind and the green speed," said head coach Clint Wallman. "They played a great mental game and we are looking forward to finishing out tomorrow with the same great attitude."
The Hoosiers were in sixth place when play was suspended, posting a first-round tally of 315. Senior Rosie Davies was tied for the lead in the field as the teams headed to the clubhouse, posting a 2-over 74 in round one and sitting at even par through 12 holes of round two. Senior Kate Coons also sits in the top 15, tied for 13th with a round one 78 and a score of two over through 11 holes of round two.
