Crean Named NABC UPS Division All-District Coach

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Indiana head men's basketball coach Tom Crean has been named 2013 NABC Division I All-District coaches, selected by his peers, for District 7, announced by the National Association of Basketball Coaches on Friday, March 29.
Crean led the Hoosiers to their first outright Big Ten regular season championship since 1993 and a share of their 21st league championship in program history. This season marks the first time in the 16-year history of the Big Ten Tournament that Indiana has earned the No. 1 seed. Crean also guided the Hoosiers to a nation's best 7-1 when facing nationally ranked opponents, including a 5-0 mark against top-10 opposition with three of those wins (Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State) coming on the road. Indiana also had the best conference road record of any team in the country (along with Miami) among major college conferences with a 7-2 league road ledger.
In his fifth year with the Hoosiers and has guided them to a 56-16 mark since the start of the 2011-12 season and is 84-82 during his tenure at Indiana. He was named 2013 USBWA District V Coach of the Year. He is 274-178 all-time as a head coach and has 13 wins over nationally ranked foes in the last two-plus seasons.
