Field Hockey Recognized For Academic Success

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana field hockey team was recognized by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association as one of 70 programs to record a team grade point average if 3.0 or higher. The Hoosiers, who were one of seven Big Ten teams honored, also boasted seven players on the 2012 Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.
IU's list includes Amanda Bennison, Hannah Boyer, Morgan Fleetwood, Mollie Getzfread, Karen Gomez Lorite, Corinne Karch and Gaby Olshemski.
Fleetwood and Boyer are four-year honorees on the NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad.
Indiana opens the spring season on March 30 with a trip to East Lansing, Mich.
