Indiana men's tennis will be represented at the NCAA Men's Tennis Championships in Urbana, Ill., as senior Isade Juneau and freshman Sam Monette open action on Thursday in the national doubles championship. The duo finished the season ranked No. 21 by the ITA. The two Hoosiers play Jonas Lutjen and Nik Scholtz of Mississippi in the first round. Lutjen and Scholtz are the number three seed in the tournament.
Juneau and Monette will look to become Indiana's first ever All-American doubles tandem, and join IU legend Dave Power, who was a singles All-American in 1965 and 1966, as All-Americans for the Hoosiers. The tandem has combined for a 22-3 overall record on the season, including a 21-2 mark at number one in IU's doubles lineup. They went 5-1 against ranked doubles teams and finished 5-2 in Big Ten play. They finished the season on a five match winning streak and won eight of their last 10 matches.
