ITA Summer Circuit Bloomington Regional Wraps Up

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Midwest Regional of the 2013 ITA College Summer Circuit in Bloomington wrapped up on Monday with Indiana's Katie Klyczek winning the women's main draw and Daniel Bednarczyk coming out on top in the men's main draw against IU teammate Dimitrije Tasic.

Klyczek won her semifinals match, 6-3, 6-0, and then defeated Monica Lin in the finals in dramatic come-from-behind fashion, 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (8), in a tiebreaker.
"Katie played great tennis this weekend," Indiana associate head coach Ramiro Azcui said. "We are proud of her effort and we look forward to her carrying the momentum from this weekend into the upcoming season."
In the women's doubles draw, IU teammates Kayla Fujimoto and Alecia Kauss lost in the semifinals as did Carolyn Chupa and Klyczek.
For the men, it was an all-IU final in the men's main draw, featuring Dimitrije Tasic and Dan Bednarczyk after both easily won their semifinal matches. In the final, it was Bednarczyk that came out on top in a third set tie breaker, 6-4, 6-7, 1-0 (6).
The consolation final also featured a pair of IU players in Alekzander Davila and Chris Essick, with Essick claiming the 7-5, 6-3 win.
In the men's doubles, Bednarczyk and Davila teamed up to come away with that title by a score of 8-6.
