Seger Closes U.S. Amateur With 78 at Brookline

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana freshman Will Seger posted a 8-over par 78 in his second round at the U.S. Amateur in Massachusetts on Tuesday. His two-round total of 152 put him in a tie for 199th out of 312 golfers.

Only the top 64 players after the first two rounds of stroke play advanced to the match play portion of the event.

Seger played his first round at the Charles River Country Club and carded a 4-over par 74. Then on Tuesday, he moved over to the main course - The Country Club in Brookline, Mass., and posted a 78. He missed advancing to the match play portion by eight strokes.
