MEDELLIN, Colombia - Indiana track and field freshman Bethany Neeley took fifth in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Pan Am Junior Championships on Sunday. The Greentown, Ind., native ran a time of 11:13.51 for fifth place, running at altitude.

The race is just her second ever in the 3,000m steeplechase and is her first experience running at altitude. She finished just 1.27 seconds out of fourth and just 11 seconds off of the medal stand. The incoming freshman will head back to Bloomington to start classes this week.
