
Indiana Battles but Falls 3-1 to No. 15 UNC

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Indiana Volleyball (8-3) fell 3-1 to No. 15 North Carolina (11-0) on Saturday in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. UNC prevailed (25-19, 23-25, 25-22, 25-14). Morgan Leach led the Hoosiers with 11 kills and four blocks, while Jordan Haverly had nine kills to go with a team-high 17 digs.
In the first set, the Hoosiers and Tar Heels traded blows, but UNC pulled away late for a 25-19 set win. Leach had four kills and a block in the set to lead the Hoosiers.
The second set saw Indiana claim a five-point advantage and maintain it until a UNC rally knotted things at 22-22. Indiana won the race to three, taking the set 25-23. Haverly had six digs in the set, to go with an ace and two kills, including set point. Leach had five kills in the set and added a pair of blocks. Megan Tallman added five digs in the frame.
The third set was very similar to the second with IU taking a lead and UNC clawing back. It was tied 21-21 this time, but UNC won the race to four, taking it 25-22. Amelia Anderson had five kills in the frame.
The fourth set saw UNC open an early lead and holding it for the win, 25-14 victory. Indiana got seven digs from Haverly and four from Hansen in the set
