The Gophers enter Big Ten play ranked ninth nationally. They are led by middle blocker Tori Dixon, who is second in the Big Ten in hitting percentage (.471) and third in kills per set (4.26) this season. Dixon is also fourth in the conference in blocks per set (1.36), sixth in service aces (0.36) and second in points (5.40). Minnesota's only loss this season came at No. 19 Kentucky. In their 12 wins on the season, the Gophers have dropped only one set.
Ellen Chapman leads the Badgers with 179 kills this season, and her 3.89 kills per set rank sixth in the Big Ten this season. Wisconsin's libero, Taylor Morey, ranks fourth in the conference with 4.28 digs per set, shoveling 197 on the season thus far. The Badgers have won five straight since their only loss of the season, a five-set defeat to Kansas.
AIR JORDAN
Jordan Haverly is IU's active career leader in kills with 1,489, a total that ranks third nationally among active players. The fifth-year senior led Indiana in kills during all three of her previous seasons (2009, 2010 & 2012). She sat out the 2011 campaign due to a knee injury suffered during the Spring season of 2011. Haverly had major reconstructive surgery on her knee after tearing her ACL, MCL, LCL and meniscus.
This season, Haverly is off to a good start, putting away 100 kills on 259 swings, hitting a career-high .220 in what is the most balanced attack she has been a part of at Indiana. The Cherry Hill, Ill., native ranks fourth on the IU squad in kills, no longer having to carry as much of the burden. Look for the senior to have a stronger 2013 season with less stress being placed on her surgically repaired knee.
Haverly has 898 career digs and is just 102 away from becoming IU's fifth all-time player with 1000+ kills and 1000+ digs. She could become the first Hoosier ever to accumulate 1,500 kills and 1,000 digs.
ANDERSON GOES OFF AT CLASSIC
A much heralded recruit when she entered the IU program a year ago, Amelia Anderson was solid if unspectacular in her freshman campaign. Unspectacular was definitely not the way one would describe her performance at the Hoosier Classic though.
Anderson hit .443 on the weekend to lead the Hoosiers to a 3-0 record, and she led the team with 50 kills. More than she had in the first two weekends of the season, combined. The sophomore from Lake in the Hills, Ill., had a career-high 21 kills against Wyoming, 14 against Tennessee State and then hit a career-high .560 for 15 kills against UAB.
PUT IT AWAY-LE
Transferring into Indiana last January, Indiana's recruitment of Awele Nwaeze was fast and furious, sort of how her start on the court has been this Fall.
Nwaeze leads the team in hitting percentage (.310) and is just three kills out of the team lead (102). Nwaeze also leads the team in service aces, blocks and points (11, 32 & 131.5). The sophomore transferred in from Miami (FL) and has immediately become a go to player for the Hoosiers in crunch time. On the first weekend of the season, Nwaeze earned MVP honors after leading the Hoosiers to the Indiana Invitational title and a 3-0 record.
MO' BETTA
Junior Morgan Leach has been a consistent offensive force for the Hoosiers through her first two seasons in Bloomington, hitting .249 as a freshman and .259 as a sophomore. She is hitting .258 thus far in 2013.
Leach has 105 kills to lead the team in 2013, one of four Hoosiers with 100+ kills. Leach has expanded her game this year, rotating to the outside at times to provide the Hoosier offense vesatility and allowing IU to insert four middles in the lineup. She has thrived in that new role.
BRINGING HOME THE HARDWARE
Head Coach Sherry Dunbar has led her Hoosiers to at least one non-conference tournament title in each of her seven seasons in Bloomington, and a total of 12 tourney crowns.

LEADING THE CHARGE
The captains of the 2013 IU Volleyball team, as elected by the players, are Caitlin Hansen and Jade Henderson. The program also has started a leadership council this season which includes Jordan Haverly, Melanie Hicks, Morgan Leach and Katie Gallagher.
Henderson and Hansen will be the team's designated leaders on the court. Each of the four members of the Leadership Counsel will be the team's go-to leader for designated areas. Hicks will be in charge of Gameday Preparation, Haverly will take the lead for Academics, Leach is in charge of Treatment and Recovery, and Gallagher will spearhead Community Outreach.
