BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's basketball program is seeking male practice players for the 2013-14 season. Tryouts are scheduled to take place on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 8 p.m. ET at the women's basketball practice court inside Cook Hall.
This opportunity gives IU students a chance to play basketball on Branch McCracken Court inside of legendary Assembly Hall and in the state-of-the-art practice facility of Cook Hall while assisting in the growth of the Indiana women's basketball program under head coach Curt Miller. Practice players will get a chance to see behind the scenes of a major Division I basketball program while learning from Miller, who has won eight conference titles during his head-coaching career and has appeared in five NCAA Tournaments.
Practice players must be full-time Indiana University students in good academic standing. Players are required to have previous basketball playing experience and availability during practice times throughout the week. The team will practice this fall from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from 6:30-8:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as occasional weekends.
Prospective practice players must provide proof of a physical within the last six months and if a freshman, be a qualifier through the NCAA Eligibility Center.
For questions or more information, contact Indiana's video coordinator Jimmy Colloton at jcolloto@indiana.edu or 812-856-3879 by Wednesday, September 11.
