Men's Golf Signs Two More During Signing Period

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Indiana men's golf head coach Mike Mayer announced that Jake Brown (Carmel, Ind. / Carmel High School) and Jack Sparrow (Floyd Knobs, Ind. / Floyd Central High School) have signed an offer of admission to IU and will begin classes in the Fall of 2014.
Brown and Sparrow will join Brendon Doyle, Christian Fairbanks and Matthew Weber as freshmen on the team starting in the Fall of 2014.

Finished 14th individually at the 2013 IHSAA State golf tournament with a score of even par ... tied for third in the regional tournament, also coming in at even par ... has twice been named to the all-county team ... ranked No. 116 on the Junior Golf Scoreboard and No. 3 in the state of Indiana ... came in T53 at the Western Junior Amateur tournament ... was a quarterfinalist in the boys state match play tournament ... posted a third place finish in the 2012 boys state medal play tournament ... is a three-time academic all-state honoree ... was the president of the Carmel High School Dance Marathon, the largest high school dance marathon in the country ... is the son of Kathy and Jim Brown ... has three brothers - Jimmy, Joey and Johnny ... intends to major in Business at Indiana.

Helped Floyd Central High School to a third place finish as a team in the IHSAA state championship in 2013 and a fifth place finish in 2012 ... also earned a fourth place team finish in the state championship in 2011 ... earned honorable mention all-conference as a junior ... also garnered all-conference honors as a sophomore ... finished second at the IHSAA regional tournament in 2012 with a round of 71 ... helped FCHS to three consecutive sectional titles ... ranked No. 25 on the Golfweek Junior Tour ... tied for 15th place at the AJGA Jeff Overton Tournament (74-76-71) ... came in fourth at the 2013 Southern Junior Masters (72-74) ... graduated with an academic honors diploma after finishing in the top 10 percent of his class ... is the son of Ellen and Jim Sparrow ... has two sisters, Annie and Kate ... his mother and six other relatives all attended Indiana University ... intends to major in business.
