BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana women's tennis team, ranked No. 41 nationally, kicks off the spring portion of its schedule with the IU Winter Invitational on Jan. 18-20 at the IU Tennis Center. This will be Indiana's last regular season tournament before dual matches begin on Jan. 25.
The Hoosiers are coming off a strong fall after a season a year ago that saw IU make an NCAA Tournament appearance. Head coach Lin Loring, the winningest coach in women's college tennis history, sits just shy of 800 career dual wins at 795 as the spring season kicks off.
IU has three players ranked in the ITA National Singles Rankings in Katie Klyczek (No. 73), Sophie Garre (No. 86) and Gabrielle Rubenstein (No. 118).
The Hoosiers will welcome players from Abilene Christian, No. 68 Harvard, Marquette and No. 71 Oregon to Bloomington this weekend. The Harvard doubles duo of Spencer Liang and Monica Lin are ranked No. 34 nationally.
Play will begin on Saturday morning at 11 a.m. ET, Sunday at 10 a.m. and then the final day of play on Monday will start at 10 a.m.
