• With the victory Indiana splits the season series with Illinois and now lead the overall series 86-85.
• Since 2011-12 Indiana is 69-23 (.750 winning pct.) and 46-5 at home.
• The Hoosiers started three freshmen (Vonleh, Robinson, Williams) in consecutive games for the first time since the last five games of 2010. Christian Watford, Jordan Hulls and Derek Elston were the last trio of rookies to comprise IU's starting lineup.
• The Hoosiers held Illinois to 46 points, the lowest for a Big Ten opponent in the Tom Crean era.
• The Hoosiers outrebounded Illinois 42-28 and have won or tied the rebounding battle in 19 of 20 games this season. Indiana held the Illini to zero second chance points and only four offensive rebounds.
• Indiana made 13-of-19 free-throws. This is the 12th game this season that the Hoosiers have made more free-throws than their opponent has attempted. Indiana is 11-1 in those games. Since the 2011-12 season, Indiana has made the most free-throws in the nation in the last 92 games with 1744.
• Trailing 29-28 the Hoosiers went on a 12-0 run to take a 40-29 lead. Indiana held this lead for the remainder of the game.
• The Hoosiers finished with a plus-14 rebound margin, which is the most for IU in Big Ten play this season and the Hoosiers most in Big Ten play since plus-23 against Michigan in the regular season finale.
• Indiana did not commit a turnover in the final 4:25 of the game.
• Sophomore Kevin Yogi Ferrell led the team with 17 points. This is the 13th game this season that Ferrell has scored 15 or more points. He went 8-of-8 from the free-throw line, which are the most attempts without a miss by a Hoosier this season. Ferrell went 6-of-6 from the line in the final 1:06. Ferrell also dished out five assists.
• Freshman Stanford Robinson scored ten points and grabbed five rebounds. This is his third double-figure scoring game in the last six games.
• Freshman Troy Williams scored eight points, pulled down three rebounds and blocked one shot.
• Freshman Noah Vonleh had a team-high 14 rebounds. This marks his tenth double-figure rebounding game this season.
• Redshirt Sophomore Austin Etherington had a season-high seven points in a career 21 minutes.
• Senior Will Sheehey scored five points, grabbed nine rebounds and added three assists, one steal and one block.
• Senior Jeff Howard continued his excellent play off the bench and had a key second half tip-in.
• Sophomore Jeremy Hollowell also added a clutch first half three-pointer.
