SETTING THE SCENE • Indiana brings a two-match win streak and a 4-0-1 record in its last five matches to Columbus on Sunday.
• The Hoosiers are coming off a 3-0 win at No. 18 Louisville on Wednesday with goals from Grant Lillard, Jamie Vollmer and Andrew Oliver. • IU is still looking to get in gear in Big Ten play with a 1-1-1 record and is making its first Big Ten road trip.
• The IU offense seems to be clicking with 13 goals in its last five games. • Ohio State is 2-1 in its last three games with wins over Louisville and Michigan State but is coming off a 1-0 loss at Oakland on October 8.
NEWS AND NOTES
• Indiana found a goal from Grant Lillard in the 37th minute and never looked back in a 3-0 win at No. 18 Louisville on October 7. • The win put IU at 3-1-1 against top-25 teams this season.
• The win was Indiana's first over Louisville since 2009 and the first at Louisville since 2005. • IU leads the all-time series 17-4-1.
• Lillard headed home a long throw from Jamie Vollmer to give IU the 1-0 lead at 36:05. • Vollmer got in on the scoring act at 51:42 with his header off a long cross from Patrick Doody.

ON TARGET • After a slow start the IU offense has been clicking over the last five matches.
• 13 of the Hoosiers' 17 goals this year have come in the last five games vs. Rutgers (2), UCF (4), Northwestern (1), Saint Louis (3) and Louisville (3). • Indiana has tallied 72 shots in the three games, with 37 on frame (51.3 percent; 9/17 vs. Rutgers; 6/12 vs. UCF; 9/19 vs. Northwestern; 6/11 vs. Saint Louis; 7/13 vs. Louisville).
• Prior to the four matches, just 23 of 88 attempts (26.1 percent) had been on frame. • Tanner Thompson and Jamie Vollmer have a team-best three goals each, with five of their six combined goals coming in the last five matches.
OFFENSIVE DEFENDERS
• Indiana has gotten a nice offensive lift from its back four in 2014. • Left back Patrick Doody is tied for first in assists (3), third in goals scored (2) and is alone in third in total points (7).

• The Indiana coaching staff preached before the start of the season that goal scoring would be by committee, and that is just what has happened in 2014. • The Hoosiers are second in the Big Ten in goals scored with 17, with nine different players accounting for the 17 tallies.
• Tanner Thompson and Jamie Vollmer lead the way with three scores, while Grant Lillard, Patrick Doody, Femi Hollinger-Janzen and Trevor Swartz have come up with two each. • Five different players have double digits in the shot tally, led by 34 from Thompson.
EARLY BIRDS
• Indiana is wasting no time scoring in matches this year as 11 of its 17 goals have com in the first half. • Twice this season IU has scored with less than three minutes gone in a game, with Patrick Doody's goal vs. Dartmouth coming at 2:19, and Jamie Vollmer's score against UCF coming at 2:41.
• In fact, seven of IU's 17 scores have come with less than 26 minutes elapsed in the game.
NCAA RPI • The NCAA released its second set of RPI numbers on October 6 and the Hoosiers sit at No. 5 overall and tops in the Big Ten.

BAGELS, BAGELS, BAGELS
• Indiana is all about the "bagel" or shutout this year after a 2013 season when it had trouble keeping opponents off the board. • The Hoosiers picked up their first bagel in the second game of the year on August 31 with a 1-0 win over No. 12 Marquette.
• Last year Indiana's first shutout did not come until the ninth game on the schedule, a 2-0 victory over Ohio State on September 29, 2013. • Shutout number two came in a 1-0 win over Kentucky on Sept. 5, and that was followed by the third shutout of the year on Sept. 8 against Dartmouth by a 1-0 score.
• The Hoosiers tallied their fourth shutout of the year in a 0-0 double overtime tie with Butler on Sept. 17. • Indiana recorded its fifth shutout in a 3-0 win at No. 18 Louisville, its first blanking of the Cardinals since 2009.
• Indiana had just four shutouts in all of 2013, after putting up 13 in 2012.
OT...EH... • While Indiana has yet to find the back of the net in overtime matches, going 0-0-3 this season, the extra sessions have not been as unkind to the Hoosiers as they were in 2013.

LEANING ON THE FRESHMEN • Indiana has seen good returns from its freshman class in 2014, with the newcomers stepping up both offensively and defensively.
• Freshman midfielder/defender Trevor Swartz and defender Grant Lillard are tied for third on the team lead in goals scored with two. • Swartz scored the game winner in IU's 1-0 win over Kentucky, and added his second in a 4-2 victory over UCF.
• Lillard scored his first career goal vs. UCF, and added his first game winner in a 3-0 win at No. 18 Louisville. He has also played a key role in IU's five shutouts this year, starting all 11 matches. • Freshman midfielder Michael Riedford was the one who put home the game winner in IU's 1-0 triumph over Marquette.
• Freshman Jack Griffith and redshirt freshman Brad Shaw have also seen significant minutes this fall.
CAUGHT IN HIS WEBB • Sophomore Colin Webb is back in goal for the Hoosiers after taking over the starting role toward the end of the 2013 season.
• Webb is already off to a strong start in 2014, picking up his first shutout in a 1-0 win over No. 12 Marquette. For his play vs. the Golden Eagles and also in a 1-1 tie with No. 9 Georgetown, Webb was named to the adidas/IU Credit Union Classic All-Tournament team. • He posted back-to-back shutouts in 1-0 wins over Kentucky and Dartmouth at the Mike Berticelli Memorial Tournament.
• Webb also picked up back-to-back Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors on September 2 and 9. • His fourth shutout of the year came with three saves in a 0-0 double overtime tie with Butler.
• Shutout number five came with six saves in a 3-0 win at No. 18 Louisville. • So far this season Webb has 34 saves and allowed just seven goals in 1037:59 minutes of actio for a 0.61 GAA.
