Softball Wraps Up Fall Schedule

Oct. 13, 2014 BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana softball team wrapped up its fall exhibition schedule on Sunday. The Hoosiers defeated Lake Land Community College in both games of the doubleheader.
In the first game, Indiana pitchers Lora Olson and Miranda Tamayo combined for a shutout against the Lakers. Olson threw five innings, giving up only three hits and a walk.
On the offensive side, Kelsey Dotson and Michelle Huber both scored a pair of runs to help lead Indiana to the 6-0 victory. Freshmen Rachel O’Malley and Taylor Uden also added an Indiana run.
In the second matchup of the day, the Hoosier firepower was led by a grand slam from Shannon Cawley. The senior knocked one out of the left field fence to give Indiana a 4-0 lead in the third inning. Indiana added on two more runs in each of the final two innings to secure an 8-1 win.
Freshman pitcher Emily Kirk tossed five scoreless innings, surrendering four hits and no walks.
