IUXC to Compete at Adidas Invitational and Pre-Nationals

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana cross country teams will run in two events this weekend beginning on Friday, Oct. 17 with the Adidas Invitational and then the Pre-National Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 18. Both the IU men's and women's teams will have representatives at each of those events.
The Adidas Invite will be hosted by the University of Wisconsin at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course on Friday. The event will feature four races beginning with the women's 6K championship race at Noon ET followed by the men's 8K championship run at 12:45 p.m. There will be two "B" races to conclude the event for both the women (1:30 p.m.) and men (2:10 p.m.).
The field in Madison is loaded with talent as 22 nationally ranked women's teams and 19 top-30 men's programs will be competing. On both the men and women's side, there will be six top 10 programs in each field, including the reigning national champions for the women, Providence.
The Pre-National Invite is hosted at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind. by Indiana State University on Saturday. Races will begin at 11 a.m. ET with the women's 6K blue race, followed by the men's 8K blue race at 11:35 a.m., the women's 6K white race at 12:15 p.m., the men's 8K white race at 12:50 p.m., the women's 6K open race at 1:30 p.m. and then the men's 8K open race at 2:05 p.m. Indiana will compete in the the men and women's white races.
Seven nationally ranked women's programs and 10 top 30 men's teams are in the Pre-Nationals competitive field on Saturday. On the men's side, top-ranked Colorado and No. 2 Oregon are scheduled to compete. Four top 10 women's teams will compete, including No. 1 Michigan.
