BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana women's golf team welcomes seven other team to the Hoosier Fall Invitational, Oct. 17-19 at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind.In addition to Indiana, Ball State, Boston College, Illinois, Illinois State, Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois and Fresno State make up the field.
A new format for the tournament will be used this year, with Friday consisting of one round of stroke play. After that the teams will be seeded No. 1 through No. 8 and paired up for match play. The first round of match play begins at 8:30 a.m. ET Saturday morning, with a second round teeing off at 1:30 p.m. ET. The final round of match play will take place on Sunday starting at 8:30 a.m. ET.
Indiana's five-person lineup consists of senior Elizabeth Tong, junior Maria Mancini, freshman Alix Kong, sophomore Ana Sanjuan and sophomore Theresa-Ann Jedra. Junior Camille Chevalier, senior Kamryn Klawitter and senior Sarah Dusman will compete as individuals in the match play portion only.
Tong is coming off a sixth-place finish at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, her first top-10 finish of the year and second-straight top-25 finish. Tong carded a 69 in round one of the event, her second round in the 60s this season.
Mancini tied for 53rd this past weekend, posting two solid rounds of 75 and 76. Sanjuan also had a 75 in her first round in Texas, while Kong finished her tournament on a solid note with a 76, tied for 53rd along with Mancini. Jedra will be making her first appearance in a team event this year.
