NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- The Indiana women's golf team earned the No. 1 seed after 18 holes of stroke play at the IU Fall Invitational, Oct. 17-19 at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Indiana.
The Hoosiers posted a score of 299, one stroke ahead of second-place Eastern Michigan (300). The third seed for tomorrow's match play competition is Illinois (302), followed by No. 4 Fresno State (303), No. 5 Illinois State (315), No. 6 Boston College (316), No. 7 Ball State (317) and No. 8 Northern Illinois (319).
Indiana and NIU will tee off starting at 8:30 a.m. ET from hole No. 1. Illinois vs. Boston College starts off hole one at 9:20 a.m. ET. On the back nine it is Eastern Michigan vs. Ball State at 8:30 a.m. ET and Fresno State vs. Illinois State at 9:20 a.m. ET.
Sophomore Ana Sanjuan led Indiana in qualifying for match play with a 1-over 73, putting her fourth in the field. One stroke back was freshman Alix Kong with a 2-over 74, good for a tie for fifth.
Junior Maria Mancini and senior Elizabeth Tong both carded rounds of 4-over 76 to sit tied for 12th, while sophomore Theresa-Ann Jedra is tied for 23rd (79).
Competing as individuals, senior Kamryn Klawitter tied for 38th with a round of 82, while senior Sarah Dusman tied for 43rd with an 83. Junior Camille Chevalier posted an 85, good for 50th.
Alix Kong will face NIU's Connie Ellett at 8:30 a.m., followed by Theresa-Ann Jedra vs. Lena Gautier at 8:40. It is Elizabeth Tong vs. Sam Coyne at 8:50, and Maria Mancini vs. Taylor Ellett at 9 a.m. Rounding out the group is Ana Sanjuan vs. Sydney Brickey at 9:10 a.m.
