IU Faces Michigan, Texas, Louisville in Quad Meet

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Four powers of NCAA Swimming and Diving will meet this weekend in Ann Arbor, Michigan as the Indiana Hoosiers, Michigan Wolverines, Texas Longhorns and Louisville Cardinals square off in a quad meet at Canham Natatorium.The two-day meet will span Friday and Saturday, beginning at 6 p.m. ET Friday night. Friday's events are as follows:
400-yard Medley Relay
200-yard Freestyle
100-yard Backstroke
100-yard Breaststroke
200-yard Butterfly
50-yard Freestyle
1,000-yard Freestyle
One-Meter Diving
200-yard IM
200-yard Freestyle Relay
The four teams return to the pool Saturday for the following events beginning at 10 a.m. ET:
200-yard Medley Relay
200-yard Backstroke
100-yard Freestyle
200-yard Breaststroke
500-yard Freestyle
100-yard Butterfly
400-yard IM
Three-Meter Diving
400-yard Freestyle Relay
In addition to competition between elite racers in the NCAA ranks, this meet will also feature top post-grad swimmers in competition. Former Hoosier standouts Lindsay Vrooman, James Wells, Bronwyn Pasloski and Cody Miller will compete against other postgrads such as Conner Jaeger, Sean Ryan, Ryan Feeley, Joao DeLuca and Emily Brunemann, among others. Post-grad races will take place during the meet swimming breaks.
The Hoosier men are coming off a dominating performance vs. Auburn, beating the Tigers 149-91 on October 10 in Bloomington. The Hoosier sprinters came up big with victories in the 200 medley relay and 400 medley relay, while sophomore Anze Tavcar posted NCAA B cuts in winning the 50 free and 100 free. Tavcar was named Big Ten Swimmer of the Week, while Ali Khalafalla took home Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors for his performance on the relays.
IU freshman and Australian Olympian James Connor got his collegiate career started on the right foot with victories on the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard against Auburn to take home his first Big Ten Diver of the Week award.
The women had several standout performances in a close 126-113 loss to Auburn. NCAA Champion Brooklynn Snodgrass picked up where she left off, winning the 200 back by five seconds and nearly posting an NCAA automatic qualifying time with a 1:53.97. She also took second in the 200 freestyle to earn Big Ten Swimmer of the Week.
Kennedy Goss was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week after her first meet, winning the 200 free and taking second in the 500 free. Redshirt freshman diver Jessica Parratto wrapped up the awards with the Big Ten Diver of the Week accolade as she swept the women's diving competition on the 1-meter and 3-meter.
