Golf Closes Fall with Las Vegas Collegiate

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Indiana women's golf team wraps up a busy fall schedule with the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, October 26-28 at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.The 18-team field includes host UNLV, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Idaho, Long Beach State, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico State, North Texas, San Diego State, San Francisco, San Jose State, Tulsa, UC Riverside and Washington State.
The teams will play 54-holes over three days using a combination of the Desert Hawk (front nine) and Coyote Run (back nine) courses. Live results will be available at BirdieFire.com.
Indiana won this tournament in 2012 and will be led by senior Elizabeth Tong, who tied for medalist honors that same year. Tong leads the team with a 73.00 stroke average and has finished in the top-15 at all three events this season, led by a tie for sixth at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational.
Sophomore Ana Sanjuan will play in the No. 2 spot and has come on strong in her last two outings. She was the top IU finisher in stroke play at last weekend's Hoosier Fall Invitational, posting a 1-over 73.
Junior Maria Mancini has earned the third spot, having been among the top Hoosiers at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational and Hoosier Fall Invitational. Freshman Alix Kong will play at No. 4 and is coming off a tie for fifth in stroke play at the Hoosier Fall Invitational with a 2-over 74.
Rounding out the Indiana lineup is sophomore Theresa-Ann Jedra, who will be making her second-straight team tournament appearance. She placed tied for 21st in stroke play at the Hoosier Fall Invitational and makes her first team road trip of the season.
