BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University swimming will be represented on rosters for the 2015 World Championships, 2015 Pan Am Games and 2015 World University Games, as announced today by USA Swimming.
Former Hoosier Cody Miller is part of a 47-person team that will represent the United States at the 2015 World Championships, Aug. 2-9, 2015, in Kazan, Russia. Miller qualified for the team in the 100-meter breaststroke after winning his first USA Swimming national title this past summer. Miller was a seven-time Big Ten Champion in the 100- and 200-yard breaststrokes.
The U.S. will send Indiana sophomore Gia Dalesandro to the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto from July 14-18, 2015. Dalesandro was named to the team in the 100-meter butterfly. Dalesandro is the reigning Big Ten Champion in the 200-yard butterfly and finished second in the 100-yard butterfly, earning Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors.
Two former Hoosiers will represent the United States at the 2015 World University Games July 4-11, 2015 in Gwangju, South Korea with Lindsay Vrooman and James Wells. Vrooman's four-year career saw her earn seven Big Ten titles, including the 1,650 free and 500 free in 2014. She is the Big Ten record holder in both events.
Wells, who also concluded his IU career this past spring, made the team in the 100-meter backstroke. Wells is a two-time Big Ten champion in the 100-yard backstroke. He took seventh in the 50-meter backstroke and eighth in the 100-meter backstroke at this past summer's USA Swimming nationals.
