Postgame notes
• Indiana scored a school-record 115 points on Saturday, breaking the previous mark of 110 which was set vs. UAB on March 21, 1991.
• The Hoosiers connected on a program-record 16 3-pointers against Gardner-Webb, breaking the previous record of 13, which was set at Iowa on Feb. 28, 2013. Indiana went 16-of-30 (53.3 percent) from long distance in the game.
• IU's defense collected 18 steals, tying for the fourth-most in a single game in school history. It is the most steals for Indiana since Dec. 5, 2007 vs. Dayton (18).
• Tyra Buss accounted for seven of those steals, tying for the sixth most by an individual in a single game.
• The Hoosiers started the game on a 28-2 run in the first 5:38, hitting on 11-of-11 field goals, including six 3-pointers. Taylor Agler had 11 consecutive points during the run.
• IU outscored GWU 51-32 in the paint, 33-8 in points off turnovers, 20-8 in second-chance points, 16-2 in fast break points and 43-15 in bench points.
• Indiana 61-point margin of victory is the second-largest win in school history and biggest against a Division I opponent. IU defeated Taylor University by 75 points in 1975.
• Six Hoosiers scored in double-figures including Buss (18), Agler (17), Karlee McBride (15), Larryn Brooks (15), Amanda Cahill (15) and Alexis Gassion (11).
• The Hoosiers scored 51 points in the paint, marking the first time IU has tallied 50 or more paint points since scoring 54 at Cleveland State on Dec. 21, 2013.
• Indiana forced 26 Gardner-Webb turnovers today and scored 33 points off of those miscues.
• Buss led all scorers with 18 points to go along with seven steals, five assists, four rebounds and a block in her collegiate debut. She shot 8-of-14 from the field and scored the first points of the 2014-15 season with a 3-pointer to start the game.
• Agler came out firing as the sophomore scored 14 points in the game's first 4:40 while going on an 11-0 run by herself. She finished with 17 points in the game, shooting 6-of-7 from the field, 5-of-6 from 3-point range to go along with seven rebounds, four assists and two steals.
• McBride scored a career-high 15 points off the bench and did not miss a shot the entire game, going 6-for-6 overall with three 3-point field goals. She also added five boards, an assist and a block.
• Brooks tallied 15 points and tied for the team lead with five assists to go along with two steals and three rebounds.
• Cahill scored 15 points in her college debut, shooting 6-of-8 from the field and 2-of-2 from 3-point range. She added seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block.
• Gassion finished with 11 points in the win off the bench and added three boards and two assists.
