Postgame notes
• The Hoosiers started the game on a 21-4 run and led 31-6 at the 8:54 mark of the first half.
• Indiana forced Valparaiso into 26 turnovers and for the second straight game tallied 18 steals.
• The Hoosiers held Valparaiso to 17-for-62 shooting from the field (27.4 percent) and have held their first two opponents to a combined 30.9 percent shooting.
• The Hoosiers shot 54.3 percent (19-for-35) in the opening half and finished the game with a 47.8 field goal percentage.
• Indiana held a 54-20 advantage in points in the paint, 26-13 in turnovers, 26-5 in points off turnovers and 14-2 in fast break points.
• The Hoosiers had four players score in double-figures.
• Freshmen and sophomores scored all 81 of the Indiana points with 34 by freshmen.
• Freshman Tyra Buss had eight steals for the Hoosiers, which set a freshman record for steals in a game and tied for fourth for steals in a game among all players. Buss becomes the first player in program history to record back-to-back games of seven or more steals.
• Buss also led Indiana with 22 points, shooting 10-of-16 from the field.
• Sophomore Larryn Brooks scored 14 points and tallied three rebounds, two assists and two steals.
• Sophomore Jenn Anderson just missed a double-double registering 10 points and nine rebounds with three blocked shots.
• Sophomore Karlee McBride scored in double-figures for the second straight game with 10 points. She added two steals, two rebounds and an assist.
• Freshman Amanda Cahill grabbed 11 boards to lead Indiana. She also had six points, three assists and a block.
• Sophomore Taylor Agler had a career-high six steals in the game. She added six points, four rebounds and three assists.
