Kayla Smith Named B1G Co-Freshman of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- The Big Ten Conference announced its final weekly award winners for the 2014 season and Indiana's Kayla Smith was named Co-Freshman of the Week, the first weekly honor of her career.
Smith, a native of Green Lane, Pennsylvania, scored the game-winning goal on Friday against Michigan State to help the Hoosiers claim a 2-0 win in the regular season finale. It marked her third goal of the season, which tied for second on the team.
The last Indiana player to be named Big Ten Freshman of the Week was Sarah Stone on Oct. 15, 2012.
