Hoosiers Travel to Nebraska for Saturday Match

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana volleyball team makes the journey to Lincoln, Neb., for a match on Saturday Nov. 8 at 8:00 p.m. against the No. 13 Cornhuskers.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES
Last year at this point in the season the Hoosiers were 9-16 and 1-12 in conference play. On Wednesday Oct. 29 IU beat Minnesota for just the fourth time in the last 14 years. The five Big Ten wins are the most since the 2010 season and equal the combined total from the previous two seasons.

LEACH JOINS 1,000 KILL CLUB
On Friday Oct. 17 against Ohio State, senior Morgan Leach recorded her 1,000th career kill to become the 17th IU Volleyball player to join to 1,000 kill club. Leach had 12 kills in the match and now has 241 for the season and 1,055 for her career. Leach is second on the team in kills this season and leads the team in hitting percentage at .244.
TALLMAN CLIMBING THE RECORD BOOKS
Sophomore Megan Tallman recorded her 1,000th career assist in the Hoosiers match vs. UIC on Sept. 12 and continues to climb the record books. On Friday against Ohio State, Tallman moved into ninth on the IU career assist list and now has 969 for the season and 1,658 for her career. Tallman is third in the Big Ten in total assists.
HARNISH TOP-10 IN SINGLE SEASON DIGS
Junior libero and captain Courtney Harnish is having her best season of her career. Harnish has 395 digs and ranks sixth in the Big Ten at 4.16 digs/set. On Wednesday at Iowa Harnish moved into 10th place on the Hoosiers all-time single season digs list.
ON THE HORIZON
The Hoosiers are back at home on Wednesday Nov. 12 against Rutgers. On Wednesday Nov. 19 the Hoosiers host Nebraska and the theme of the night will be social media, so bring your smart phones, with lots of fun contests. On Nov. 22 the Hoosiers host Illinois and play their final regular season match at University Gym as they host senior night and honor senior Morgan Leach.
NWAEZE EARNS #B1G DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Junior middle blocker Awele Nwaeze was selected as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference on Monday Oct 6. Nwaeze tallied nine blocks in each of the Hoosiers wins against Maryland and Rutgers and registered 2.6 blocks per set for the week. Nwaeze is sixth in the Big Ten in blocks in conference matches at 1.30 per set.
HOOSIERS IN THE NCAA/BIG TEN RANKINGS
Sophomore Taylor Lebo ranks 10th in the NCAA and second in the Big Ten in service aces with 44. With two more aces, Lebo moves into a tie for 10th on the Hoosiers all-time list for single-season aces.

In addition to special features and Q and A’s with coaches and student-athletes there will be two regular shows all season long. The first is Inside IU Volleyball with head coach Sherry Dunbar-Kruzan. Hosted by the voice of IU Volleyball, Sean Nash this show will recap past matches, preview upcoming matches and add special features as well. Also sophomore Jazzmine McDonald will have a weekly video blog called “Smooth Jazz”, where she gives an inside look into the program from the perspective of a student-athlete.
