Connor Advances at Australian Open

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University freshman diver James Connor has advanced to the 3-meter springboard finals at the Australian Open Diving Championships, being held December 11-14 in Adelaide, South Australia.

Connor won the prelims round with a score of 400.15, 10 points ahead of Kurtis Matthews. In the semifinal Connor also came out on top, posting a score of 409.40, more than 15 points ahead of Matthews.
Connor will compete in the 3-meter final on Saturday, December 13. He will also complete in the platform preliminaries and 1-meter springboard on Friday, December 12.
A 2012 Olympian for his native Australia, Connor joined the IU program this fall where he has already earned Big Ten Diver of the Week honors.
