Connor Wins Title at Australian Open

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Indiana University freshman diver James Connor won the 1-meter springboard competition at the Australian Open Diving Championships in Adelaide, South Australia.

Connor took the men's 1-meter event with a score of 395.05, nearly 60 points ahead of runner-up Joshua Ong. Connor also competed in the preliminary and semifinal platform competition on Friday, finishing second in prelims (400.75) and first in the semifinal round with a score of 446.05.
On Saturday Connor will compete in the 3-meter final where he is the top qualifier heading into the final round. That will be followed by the platform final on Sunday, December 14.
