Indiana Rolls Past Milwaukee, 82-56

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- A second half offensive outburst led Indiana to an 82-56 victory at Milwaukee (3-6) on Sunday afternoon. The Hoosiers used a 20-0 run in the second half to improve to 9-1 on the season.
Five Hoosiers scored in double figures, led by Larryn Brooks who finished with 16 points. Other double figure scorers included Alexis Gassion (15), Amanda Cahill (13), Tyra Buss (10) and Jess Walter (10).
The Panthers scored the first four points of the second half to pull within five at 40-35 before Indiana went to work. The Hoosiers put together a 20-0 run over a 5:59 stretch to blow the game wide open and built a 60-35 lead with 13:07 to play. During the flurry, Indiana hit 8-of-9 field goals (88.9 percent).
IU outscored Milwaukee 42-25 in the second half and pushed its lead to as many as 28 with 9:40 remaining.
The Hoosiers had to overcome foul trouble in the first half as six players had at least two fouls in the opening 20 minutes. The game was back and forth in the early going before IU strung together an 8-0 run thanks to a Buss layup and back-to-back treys from Gassion and Brooks to give Indiana a 34-25 advantage with 2:16 on the clock.
On Indiana's final possession of the half Gassion nailed a layup with 10 seconds on the clock to give Indiana a 40-31 cushion at the half. Gassion scored nine points off the bench for the Hoosiers in the opening stanza.
Brooks and Buss both just missed double-doubles as Brooks dished for nine assists and Buss skied for a career-high nine rebounds. Cahill added eight boards as well.
The Hoosiers will wrap up non-conference play at Oakland on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. ET.
