BLOOMINGTON, Ind. --Indiana University head men's soccer coach Todd Yeagley announced today that D Grant Lillard (Hinsdale, Ill.), M Jay McIntosh (Kalamazoo, Mich.), D Tim Mehl (Manhattan Beach, Calif.), D/M Francesco Moore (Highland Park, Ill.), M Jake Rufe (Huntsville, Ala.), M/D Trevor Swartz (Cameron Park, Calif.) and M Cory Thomas (Corydon, Ind.) have signed to compete with the program beginning in the fall of 2014.
They join M Matt Foldesy, M Jack Griffith, GK Will Lukowski and M Michael Riedford who came to the program in January.
Grant Lillard • D • 6-4 • 195 • Hinsdale, Ill. (Hinsdale Central/Chicago Fire)
Lillard is a 6-4 defender from Hinsdale, Ill. who plays with the Chicago Fire Academy where he has served as team captain. In January he was one of 36 players called into the U-20 Men's National Team camp in Florida. Formerly of Arizona, Lillard led Brophy Prep to the 2011 Arizona State High School title. His club, the 96 Blackhawks, won Arizona state titles from 2009-11.
In addition to soccer, Lillard is also a standout on the basketball court for Hinsdale Central. In elementary school he was a nationally-ranked chess player.

McIntosh is a 6-0 attacking midfielder from Kalamazoo, Mich. In three varsity seasons at Loy Norrix High School he tallied 80 goals and 30 assists. As a junior he was the M Live.com/Kalamazoo Gazette Player of the Year and an all-state honoree. McIntosh was named to the all-division, all-distract and all-conference teams each of his three seasons.
As a junior his Loy Norrix team set a school record with 18 wins, beating the previous best of 16 set his sophomore season. McIntosh also earned letters in football, track and field and basketball.
Tim Mehl • D • 6-1 • 170 • Manhattan Beach, Calif. (Loyola/FRAM Soccer Club)
Mehl, a 6-1 defender, hails from Manhattan Beach, Calif. and Loyola High School. He is a three-year varsity starter, earning third-team all-CIF honors as a sophomore and junior, as well as first-team all-league recognition. He was named MVP of the Golden State Invitational and South High School Tournament.
During the last two summers, Mehl has trained in Germany in Nürnberg (2012) and Kaiserslautern (2013).
Francesco Moore • D/M • 5-10 • 168 • Highland Park, Ill. (Highland Park/Chicaog Magic-PSG)
Moore stands as a 5-10 midfielder from Highland Park, Ill. Moore started nearly every match in defense in 2012-13 for the U-18 Chicago Magic-PSG. In 2011 he was named to the Central Suburban League all-conference team and over the course of his freshman and sophomore seasons tallied nine goals and 10 assists.
In club play, Moore is a three-time 3v3 national champion (2008-09, 2011) and won a Super Y-League national title in 2011, where he was voted to the all-tournament team.
Jake Rufe • M • 6-2 • 165 • Huntsville, Ala. (Grissom/Vestavia Steamers)
Rufe, a 6-2 midfielder from Huntsville, Ala., is a three-time Huntsville Times All-Metro first team selection while playing for Virgil Grissom High School. Last spring, he had 16 goals and four assists for Grissom. He served as team captain and was selected to the North-South all-star match for rising high school seniors.
Through his junior season, Rufe has tallied 33 goals and is a two-time team MVP, as well as a three-year team captain. Grissom has been ranked as high as fourth by NSCAA (2011), winning a sectional title that season.
In the classroom Rufe maintains a 4.0+-GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society.
Trevor Swartz • M/D • 5-10 • 155 • Cameron Park, Calif. (Ponderosa/Galaxy Blues)
Swartz is the second California native in this class, a 5-10, midfielder/defender from Cameron Park, Calif. An invitee to the 2013 High School Soccer All-America game, Swartz earned first-team all-city and all-league honors at Ponderosa High School. He also took home team MVP and Offensive Player of the Year honors, with 62 goals an 21 assists in his high school career. Playing with Sacramento United in 2013-14, he was an NPL Champions Cup semifinalist, Surf Cup semifinalist and Surf College Cup finalist.
Cory Thomas • M • 6-0 • 160 • Corydon, Ind. (Corydon Central/River City Rovers)
A Corydon, Ind. product, 6-0 midfielder Thomas holds the Corydon Central career records for goals, points, goals in a game and points in a game. He was a first-team all-conference and all-district honoree, while taking home three team MVP awards and Offensive Player of the Year accolades. During his tenure Corydon Central won three Mid Southern Conference championships and were two-time sectional finalists.
