Baseball America Recognizes Several Hoosiers

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Baseball America recognized six Hoosiers on Monday (Feb. 3), tabbing Kyle Schwarber and Sam Travis as preseason All-Americans and listing IU's Dustin DeMuth, Joey DeNato, Ryan Halstead and Casey Smith amongst its Top-50 Senior Prospects. Schwarber and Travis were included in the Top-50 Junior Prospects rankings.
Schwarber has been a unanimous choice as the top catcher in the country, Baseball America marking the fourth publication/group to name him the preseason First Team backstop. Travis, meanwhile, has been placed on the Second Team by a pair of organizations (Baseball America and the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper) and selected as a First Teamer by Perfect Game.
