Hoosiers To Host Four Matches Over Weekend

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana No. 57 men’s tennis team will host two doubleheaders, one on Friday Feb. 7 and another on Sunday Feb. 9. On Friday the Hoosiers welcome Xavier (10:00 a.m.) and Western Michigan (3:00 p.m.) Sunday the Hoosiers host No. 68 UCF (10:00 a.m.) and Northern Illinois (3:00 p.m.).

Matches will be played at the IU Indoor Tennis Center.

In the Hoosiers first home weekend of action they went 1-1 with a 7-0 win over Eastern Kentucky and a 4-3 defeat against NC State.

The Hoosiers have 14 of their next 16 matches at home and went 13-4 at home last season.

IU coach Randy Bloemendaal said he likes the progress his team is making this season.

“We are having a good week of practice,” he said. “We continue to build confidence and keep getting better and better. I’m excited to see how we handle this weekend.”
