Hoosiers Capture Doubleheader Victories

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana men’s tennis team wrapped up a solid weekend of competition as they added 5-2 wins over No. 68 Central Florida and Northern Illinois Sunday at the IU Indoor Tennis Center.
Doubles partners and sophomores Daniel Bednarczyk and Sam Monette went 2-0 on the day and 4-0 for the weekend in doubles. The duo won their UCF match 8-0 and captured an 8-5 victory against Northern Illinois. The pair also won both singles matches in straight sets on the day.
Senior Dimitrije Tasic also went undefeated on the day winning both doubles matches with partner junior Sven Lalic. With Northern Illinois gaining some momentum after two singles victories to make the match score 3-2, Tasic delivered the match clinching point with a 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 victory.
The Hoosiers (6-4) have a break in competition until Feb. 21 when they host Vanderbilt at 2:00 p.m. and Toledo at 7:00 p.m. at the IU Tennis Center.
