Ferrell Named USBWA All-District V

ST. LOUIS (USBWA) - The U.S. Basketball Writers Association has released its 2013-14 Men's All-District Teams, based on voting from its national membership of 900-plus. Indiana point guard Kevin Yogi Ferrell was named to the District V team, the third straight season that a Hoosier has made the list.

Ferrell, who was named second team All-Big Ten yesterday, averaged 17.8 points per game in Big Ten play, ranking third among all conference players, and paced the league with 2.8 triples made per game. He also finished in the top 10 in assists per game (3.8, 7th), free throw percentage (81.9, 7th) and assist-turnover ratio (1.5, 10th). The 6-foot guard connected on 86 tries from downtown this season, the second-most made 3-point field goals in a single season in IU history and became the first Hoosier since Isiah Thomas (1980-81) to register 120 or more assists in each of his first two seasons donning the Cream and Crimson.
