Hoosiers Travel to Northwestern

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. –After nine straight matches at home, the No. 57 Indiana men’s tennis team hits the road to Evanston, Ill. to take on No. 24 Northwestern on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
The Hoosiers (8-7) are coming off a weekend where they split two matches, dropping a 4-1 contest against Dartmouth, but coming back to get a 7-0 win against Illinois State.
Sophomore Sam Monette leads the Hoosiers at No. 1 singles and has posted a 15-3 record at singles this season.
Northwestern (10-6) has beat two teams ranked in the top-30 (No. 24 Tulsa and No. 27 North Carolina State.
IU head coach Randy Bloemendaal said this match will be a challenge for his team, but one he thinks they are ready for.
“It is always tough to win on the road in the Big Ten,” he said. “We are getting better everyday and I think our guys are ready and excited for this opportunity.”
