Ahbe Named Big Ten Athlete of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Senior Kelsie Ahbe set a stadium and meet record in the pole vault at the Border Battle and has earned Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced today.
Ahbe, the Big Ten Indoor Champion, won the pole vault at the Border Battle with a clearance of 4.32m (14-2). In addition to setting a stadium and meet record, Ahbe’s performance is the second best mark in school history.
The jump for Ahbe is the best mark in the Big Ten this season and the fifth best mark in the NCAA. Ahbe’s teammate Sophie Gutermuth has the seventh best mark in the NCAA at 4.30m.
For the Hoosiers this award is their 11th Big Ten weekly honor of the track & field season.
