Hoosiers Fall at Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 59 Indiana men’s tennis team fell on the road to No. 49 Michigan, 5-2, on Friday.
The No. 59 nationally ranked doubles team of sophomores Sam Monette and Daniel Bednarczyk got the Hoosiers off to a good start with an 8-1 victory at No. 1 doubles. Michigan would respond with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to take the point and go up 1-0 in the match.
Michigan extended their lead to 2-0 with a win at No. 6 singles, before the Hoosiers came back to even the match at 2-2 with wins from Monette and senior Dimitrije Tasic.
The Wolverines pushed the match to 3-2 with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles Bednarczyk fought back after dropping the first set and won the second set to force a third set, which Michigan won on a tiebreak to clinch the match.
The Hoosiers will conclude the regular season on the road at Michigan State on Sunday at 12:00 p.m.
