COLUMBUS, Ohio - After posting their lowest round of the tournament with a 316 on Sunday the Indiana University women's golf team placed 11th overall at the 2014 Lady Buckeye Invitational on the Scarlet Course at The Ohio State University Golf Club.
Indiana finished with a 54-hole score of 954 (320-318-316). The host Buckeyes took the tournament crown with an 892, followed by Michigan State (900), Kent State (900), Purdue (909) and Kansas (916) in the top five.
Junior Elizabeth Tong carded the best round of the tournament for IU on Sunday with a 3-over 75, finishing tied for 20th with a score of 232 (80-77-75). Freshman Ana Sanjuan tied for 50th with a score of 240. (77-82-81).
Sophomore Maria Mancini joined Tong with a round in the 70s, also finishing tied for 50th with a 79 on Sunday (81-80-79/240). Sophomore Camille Chevalier posted an 81 on Sunday and placed tied for 65th (89-79-81/249). Junior Kamryn Klawitter also tied for 65th with an 84 in the final round (82-83-84/249). Sophomore Marissa DeCola withdrew from the tournament before the start of today's final round.
Indiana heads to French Lick, Ind. next weekend for the 2014 Big Ten Championships on the Pete Dye Course at the French Lick Resort. Play begins on Friday, April 25 and runs through Sunday.
