DES MOINES, Iowa – Former IU track & field and Olympic Bronze Medalist, Derek Drouin set a new Canadian high jump record on Friday, clearing 2.40 meters (7-10.5) at the Drake Relays.
Drouin, from Corunna, Ont., bested his own record of 2.38 meters set in Aug. 2013 in Luzhuniki, Russia, at the World Championships in Athletics.
Only four people in the history of track & field have cleared a higher mark than Drouin in the high jump.
Drouin will compete in Bloomington, Ind., on May 2 at the American Track League meet.
