Fournier Named MVP of CWPA Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Indiana senior Shae Fournier is named MVP of the 2014 CWPA Championships following her game-winner in the Hoosiers 11-10 defeat of Princeton. IU head coach Barry King was also named Coach of the Tournament while two Hoosiers were named to the All-Tournament First Team and one to the Second Team.
Fournier, along with junior Rebecca Gerrity, garnered First-Team distinctions, while Indiana sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Gaudreault was given Second-Team honors.
Fournier score three goals against the highly touted Princeton goalie, including a game-winning shot with under a minute to play in regulation time. Shae also dished out two assists and recorded one steal and one field block in the championship match.
Coach King led Indiana to their third CWPA Title and NCAA Appearance in school history despite an early 4-0 hole. Indiana will find out it's seeding in the tournament (to be hosted at USC) at 8:00 pm EST Monday night during the NCAA Selection Show.
