No. 43 Indiana Topples Nebraska, 6-1

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The No. 43 Indiana Hoosiers cruised past the Nebraska Cornhuskers with a 6-1 victory on Saturday at the IU Tennis Center.
In doubles, IU (15-6, 3-3) won the No. 3 match early when Kayla Fujimoto and Alecia Kauss defeated Nebraska's Lisa Andersson and Hannah Sulz, 8-1. That was followed by another Hoosier victory to earn their first point of the match when Shannon Murdy and Sophie Garre defeated Maike Zeppernick and Izabella Zgierska in the No. 2 match, 8-2.
In singles, Nebraska (8-11, 0-6) earned its first point when Zeppernick defeated Murdy in the No. 5 match. Murdy retired after losing the first set 6-2 due to injury.
From there the Hoosiers rolled, as Garre picked up Indiana's second point in match No. 2 with a 6-0, 6-4 victory over Izabella Zqierska. Kauss followed that up with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Andersson in the No. 4 match.
Carolyn Chupa clinched the IU victory at No. 3 with a 6-3, 7-6 (4) win. At the No. 1 spot, Katie Klychzek gave Indiana its fifth point with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Nebraska's Maggy Lehmicke.
Paula Gutierrez earned IU its sixth point in a 6-2, 1-6, 1-0 (10-6) victory.
IU will stay at home for its next match against Iowa on Sunday, April 6 at 11 a.m. ET.
